CT Man Charged With DUI After Serious Crash With Injuries

A Connecticut man who was allegedly drunk or high on drugs was arrested after allegedly hitting a motorcycle, seriously injuring the driver.

The crash took place in New Haven County around 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 in Milford near Bridgeport Avenue and Meadows End Road. 

According to Milford Police, an initial investigation revealed that a 2020 Nissan Sentra was traveling west on Bridgeport Avenue when the driver made a left turn onto Meadows End Road and struck a motorcycle that was traveling east on Bridgeport Avenue.

The driver of the motorcycle, who was not identified, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries.

The Nissan Sentra was located at 242 Broadway, and the driver was identified as Daniel DeFilippo, age 68, of Milford, police said. 

Officers reported that during the investigation, it was determined that DeFilippo was operating under the influence of liquor or drugs.

He was arrested and charged with operation while under the influence of liquor or drug or while having an elevated blood alcohol content.

DeFilippo posted a $500 bond and was released.
